I’ve basically been in ministry my whole life, having grown up in a pastor’s home. I went to college and earned a degree in sacred piano. I then married my husband, Jamie, and we served at a Christian camp for a couple of years. Following this, he became an assistant pastor in Florida for 6 years and then served as an assistant pastor in northern Michigan for 9 years. We have three children, ages 17, 14, and 12. I have homeschooled them their whole lives, and it has been an adventure to say the least! I recently received a nice digital camera, and I’m learning how to use it! I think I’m actually getting somewhere, but you’ll probably see some fruits of this hobby show up on here as I grow in it.
This blog is born out of a desire to bless other women in their own journeys. I have had to battle through some rough waters in homeschooling as well as with my personal health as I have gotten older, and the Lord has taught me much through these struggles. While I would not choose these trials on my own, I know that God has grown me through them. I hope to share lessons I’ve learned and small blessings to help us find the beauty in every day.
The Bible speaks often of honey, and Psalm 19:9-10 says “The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.” God and His Word are where true sweetness is found – even more than honey! I hope to use this blog to help you find beauty in every day by sharing the ways God has blessed me. I will definitely share things God has taught me in His Word, but I may also share different things that have been a blessing to me in my homeschooling, health, homemaking, church life, music, and even photography journeys. These blessings bring sweetness to life, and I hope to add a little sweetness to your life through my blog, hence the name “Honeycomb Blessings.” Have a sweet day, my friend, and add a little honey to your tea or coffee today!
